Overview
Jebel Akhdar's high plateau is home to centuries-old rose and pomegranate terraces, stone villages, and cooler mountain air than the coast. This three-day trip starts with Nizwa's fort and souq before heading up the mountain to walk between the terraced villages of Al Ayn and Ash Shirayjah and visit Misfat Al Abriyeen's falaj-fed palm groves.
Daily program
Nizwa to Jebel Akhdar
Visit Nizwa Fort and the traditional souq, then transfer by 4x4 up the mountain road to the Jebel Akhdar villages.
Rose terraces and viewpoints
Walking tour through the terraced villages of Al Ayn and Ash Shirayjah, with a stop at Diana's Point and a traditional lunch.
Misfat Al Abriyeen and return
Morning walk through the falaj-fed palm groves of Misfat Al Abriyeen and a stop at Falaj Daris before returning to Muscat.
